Reliable Exposure Readings
The film badge is an established, accurate method for reporting dose. It
is the product of choice for medical practices such as dental offices and
veterinary clinics, as well as universities and hospitals that utilize
X-rays. The GDS film badge provides accurate detection using
state-of-the-art dose assessment methodology. Badges are slim and
lightweight and can be worn on the body or extremities. The film packet is
sealed to shield the sensitive material from light-induced exposure and is
encased in a specially designed molded plastic holder. The multi-filter
system is designed so that radiation will reach the exposed film after
penetrating the five different filter areas: open window (OW), aluminum
(Al), copper (Cu), lead/tin (Pb/Sn), and plastic (Pl). A complex algorithm
is deployed to analyze the results of these filter areas and report dose.
